What is it like to be a part of the Presque Isle Parent Coalition?
Presque Isle Parent Coalition is a group of parents, grandparents, foster parents, and caregivers working together to ensure the children in our community get a "Great Start" in life.
Our Parent Coalition meets monthly; dinner and free childcare are provided. It is not mandatory to attend meetings, as we have other opportunities in which members can participate.
We are currently working on a literacy program called "Read-cycle". We have bins set up through out the county to offer free books to every child. We replenish the books with new and used books donated by community members. We also have collaborated with other agencies in the community at Project Connect, and have participated or organized activities such as: a Preschool Carnival, Fall Fest, Touch a Truck, Star Power, VFW Costume Party, Forest Township Playground Project, "Read to Me" Pajama Party, and various other fun activities within our county.
Not only that, we have also hosted Bake Sales, Softball Tournaments, Family Fun Day, and other fundraising ideas in effort to raise money for Preschool Scholarships.
These are just some of the projects that we have been involved with in the past, so please, join us in making a difference in the life of a child.
